BBC RADIO 1

Radio 1 was first started on a ship called bbc caroline and when radio 1 started it was known as a priate ship that wa not licenced to do radio shows. it was then stop from broadcasting but then got told that it could broadcast from the ship. in 1967 Radio 1 then opened up a studio where it is still at just now and since then it has became one of the worlds best radio station in the world to day. On september 30th 2007 it had it's 40th birthday to cekebrated 40 years on air since it started in 1967.

PRODUCERS

William Kinde is the main producer at radio 1 and he is the person that the rest of the producers speak to about what they have got for each show on radio 1 every day. the rest of the producers are Piers bradford, Ian Parkingson and he is head of specialist music and there is Alex Jones Donnelly and he is head of music at radio 1.

DJs

Radio 1 has a lot of djs. the very first dj at radio 1 was Tony Blackburn and he was the first voice that the people that listened to the very first broadcast of radio 1 would have heard and since then there have been alot more djs added to the staff at radio 1 like: Chris Moyles, Vernin Kay, Colin Murray, Scott Mills, Edith Bowman, Zane lowe, JK and Joel, Pete tong and Jo Whiley these are the new djs at radio 1 and they are the best djs that radio 1 have.

PLAYLISTS

Radio 1 has a playlist that plays everything from old music to the new music of today. They also have a chart show every sunday so that radio 1 can be the first radio station to let people know who is top of the charts for that week. Radio 1 also like to have bands in to speak to them about there up and come new songs and they also ask the bands if they would sing a live track for them and if the band say's yes then they sing the song in the live lounge that is a place where the bands can perform for radio 1. Radio 1 only play music that will keep up the image of the station so that people know that they don't just play anything they play the best in new music as well as the old music. They also have to decide which music makes the playlist for each and every week because the playlist changes evry week so that if any bands have new songs then radio 1 will listen to then and se if there good enough for the playlist.

REPORTERS

Rdio1 has alot of reporters that go out into the real world and find out what is the news for that day anbd they also go out and do surveys on stuff that might troulbe alot of people. The reporters are: Rod McKenzie Editor, Natalie Jamieson News Editor, Andy Brown Reporter and Georgina Bowman Newsreader for radio1. The reporters have a deadline by 12.45 so that it can make the lunchtime news that is read out by Georgina Bowman at 12.45 and 5.45 very weekday on radio 1.

PUBLICITY

Radio 1 like to to been seen around so in order to do that they have a team of Publicity people who try and make sure that people who are out in about know that there is a radio station called radio1 and by doing this they have to send radio1 to all the lastest Music festivals like T in the Park and Glastonbury. they also use Logo's to advertise about what radio1 is all about. The Team Of Publicity people are: Julian Payne and he warks in the Press and Publicity part of radio1. Radio 1 also go to holiday resorts like Ibzisa so that they can keep in touch with all the people that go on holiday to ahve fun because when radio 1 go over there they allways ahve a party and a great time and they also do live broadcasts from where ever they are in the world so that the people who are not there can enjoy it by listening to the radio when it is happening.
